About

It all started when…

Matt Bruno founded TDR in 1972 when he merged Turlock Refrigeration Center with Turlock-based Miller Dairy Supply. With a staff of four employees, the business initially specialized in servicing dairy and refrigeration equipment. When the industry trend shifted from small dairies to larger, more automated facilities, TDR moved into dairy design and construction.

In the next four decades, the dairy industry changed, and the Turlock-based firm also changed to better serve its growing clientele. General construction was added to its core business of building dairies, manufacturing, installing and servicing equipment. With successful commercial projects, the name Turlock Dairy and Refrigeration, Inc. was changed to TDR Inc. to better reflect the many new facets of the growing business.

Bruno’s sons — Tony and Mathew — joined the family business upon graduation from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, in 1997 and 2000, respectively.

Under their leadership, the younger Bruno’s have added an aftermarket division, offering an extensive line of aftermarket products to their customers. Today, they continue to seek out the latest innovations in the industry, partnering with Lely, to bring the first commercial fully automatic robotic dairy to California.

Matt Bruno, Founder

Matt Bruno founded TDR when he merged Turlock Refrigeration Center with Turlock-based Miller Dairy Supply. Bruno eventually turned over the company’s day-to-day operations to his two sons, Tony and Mathew, but continued to be active and available to the business until his passing in 2011. Bruno built TDR on the foundation of serving and satisfying hard-working dairy owners that expected nothing less from their vendors. Sons Tony and Mathew continue to operate TDR the same way with customer service and satisfaction as its number one priority.
